Job changes | A new love | The Future
They say that when life thows you a curve ball you should just yell "Plot Twist!!" and go with it. So that is what I am going to be doing. In April of 2016, on the one year aniversery of buying our house and my studio, Jim was laid off from his job. Yes my heart dropped when he told me. Well Jim being Jim, he got a job offer the same day. His new job would make more money but it would take him away from home for 13 weeks at a time.
When we moved to Sandwich NH, I met a group of ladies who introduced me to Fiber Arts. Spinning, weaving, knitting, fiber preperations, dyeing wool and even raising my own fiber bunnies have become my new passion. Yarn and fibers are much softer and much more forgiving than stones that chip and metal that melts. I now want to spend all of my time in my fiber studio instead of my jewelry studio. Well now this could be a problem as my Jewelry is my source of income and Fiber Arts is my hobby.
In the middle of Jims 2nd assignment we decided something needed to give. It became a choice between being with the man who will be my husband or keeping my studio and business going. The thing we want most is to be together. As much as we love this home and the community it is in, we have decided to sell the house and buy an RV so that the dogs and I can travel with Jim's job. Moving from a 4500 Sq. Ft. home to a 40 foot RV will be a challenge but worth it. Because I am going to have to give up my studio space, and due to my new interest in Fiber Arts, I will be giving up jewelry all together.
I will be spending the next several months making plans, lists and taking photos of my equipment and inventory so they can be sold off. Although Sterling Lace Creations, Ltd. will be closing on Dec. 15, 2016, I will be holding one large sale once I have every thing in order so keep an eye out!
